EMG Analyzer - Tool to detect medical abnormalities in skeletal muscles using Electromyography (EMG)

EMGs are checked by only trained physicians or neurologists, since it’s been done manually the amount or the probability of error reading can be high. Therefore implementing such a system for recognizing EMG patterns will help them to understand the type of the skeleton muscle decease. This system will be really helpful for future researches and for future moderations for these types of systems. And most importantly in Sri Lanka to identify skeleton muscle deceases using computers haven’t been done up to now. So this research will be an important document for future researchers who are hoping to develop such systems as well. If there is a portable system we can use it anywhere anytime, with the aspect of portability in my system can be very helpful for sportsmen in grounds. By using my system physiotherapist can examine players muscle injuries and its severity in ground.

Computer Interface for Disabled to Compose Piano Music via Eye Movements

The vehicle number plate recognition system (VNPRS) is an essential component of the Sri Lankan Traffic System. The main aim of this project is to design an efficient automated authorized vehicle identification system by using the vehicle number plate. The system uses the character recognition of the vehicle license plate based on template matching and is mainly applicable to Sri Lankan vehicle number plates. The proposed system uses a regular PC with a video camera, and captures the image of vehicle number plate. Once the camera captures a number plate, it will be processed for the character conversation by optical character recognition (OCR) mechanism. Then characters are checked against a centralized database, which stores detailed information of Sri Lankan vehicles. As a result, the system displays its status, of which the information is being updated by relevant departments instantly. The system pops up a screen to notify the Police Department that the vehicle in inspection has committed an offense or other related alerting notifications. Introduction of vehicle detection for automation of vehicle identification in Sri Lanka involves an unaffordable investment cost to purchase foreign technology and equipment which do not cater to Sri Lankan traffic needs, unless some locally developed cost-effective system is introduced, such as VNPRS.

3. Eclipse plug-in for Java Exception Resolution and Review

The most resourceful place for information about any domain of knowledge that’s available today is the World Wide Web. Considering the vast amount of information that it possesses there is no dispute about the fact that World Wide Web (WWW) has contributed immensely to the rapid growth of every department of science and technology in recent times. Yet, the point that is raised by most enthusiasts and researchers on WWW is the effectiveness of tapping and exploring this vast reservoir of information and transforming it in to knowledge. Grasping insight and gathering experience consumes time. Today’s competitive markets and wide range of requirements do not allow that kind of comfort to the knowledge workers in any field. The developers and software engineers who make up the lower tier of the industry are directly influenced by the time constraints. This project focuses on methods of knowledge acquisition from the web using semantic web related technologies and reducing the time that is spent by software engineering professionals in analyzing web’s information and acquiring knowledge. The research is based on, Semantic Web and Information Extraction; research areas that are closely associated with Knowledge Management on the web.

Home automation system through GPRS as an android application

By using home automation through GPRS you can control your entire home appliance from anywhere. We want to make this system as an android application, so that you can control your smart home by using your smart android phone. Our system is GPRS based that’s why you can monitor your home from wherever you are on the road, on the holiday or at the office. Android is the Linux based operating system. The software we are using for the development of application is Eclipse SDK plug in java environment. This home automation system consist of GPRS module, Microcontroller and relays as hardware while it software consists of android environment and microcontroller burner.

Content Delivery in Ad-Hoc Wireless Networks

Our present age is the age of fastest communication. Now-a-day wireless technology has become popular. The ability of exchanging information has increasing as fast. Here some examples of technologies implementing ad-hoc network include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Zigbee. Our main objective is to establish a communication connection between USRPs, USRP and TelosB Sensors and Sensors to Sensors using Zigbee protocol (IEEE 802.15.4) .The operating broadcasting frequency of this protocol is 2.4GHz. We will implement a star network topology for our sensors networks. We also aim to print useful data obtained from our sensors.

Virtualization Education Environment

Our main objective of this project is to make a flexible and stable environment for students to experiments with virtual environments. As we know that virtualization in class is already working but virtual labs do not exist yet. It’s an interesting challenge, as the students will be interacting with their own virtual machines on top of virtual one provided. Since the students are expected to realistically test the performance of different approaches, the performance of our system is important.

Remote Laboratory for Wireless Network Security

The course teaches the concept that may be difficult without practical implementations. By introducing a laboratory element it becomes easy for students to understand the concept of their course, they could also perform safe and security sensitive experiments in the controlled environment. The system consists of hardware implementation to support wireless security system and laboratory experiments designed to complement the lecture material. Students will be able to perform experiments on their own they can also be guided through structured laboratory procedures; virtualization will be used to support many hardware machines on one physical host. This reduces cost and increase system efficiency. Machines can be divided in to two groups, one machine creating legitimate traffic on a network while another performs any number of operations on it. Labs will be attempted to investigate vulnerabilities in primary Wi-Fi but also Bluetooth. Labs in other wireless standards will be enabled by utilizing software defined radios.

Coating Overflow Removal Tool

The stent was established to replace the conventional invasive surgery and angioplasty balloon that was used in treating cardiovascular disease.  In the early stage of angioplasty, cardiologists used a balloon to develop the artery that was clogged. However, in some cases the wall of the coronary artery became damaged after the balloon is dilated, resulting a sharp or sub acute collapse of the artery.  The modern stent was considered in the 1980s in response to the danger pretensed by the angioplasty balloon.  The stent was able reduce the danger of collapsing artery wall, but it gave birth to the problem of restenosis.  After years of engineering and designing, the stent is equipped with biocompatible and radio visible coating which decrease the possibility of restenosis.

Cavitation Test Loop

CCI Valve make high-performance control valves used in a variety of power associated industries such as the nuclear power and oil and gas industries. These valves function at very high flow rates and pressures. Cavitation can occur in such cruel circumstances, leading to serious damage to valves. To help direct the development of future valves, CCI is interested in obtaining a system that allows cavitations to be studied experimentally. The aim of this project is to develop a test loop that allows one to experimentally measure cavitations in valve systems.
