MP3-Based Digital Record and Playback Device

Similar in purpose to a recordable CD jukebox, the MP3-based digital record and playback device is a home stereo style device. This device is capable of real-time recording and compression of incoming audio, capable of encoding of CD audio from an incorporated CDROM drive, plays locally stored MP3 files. This device can locally store MP3 files from ISO-9660 CDROMs, and is accessible via a standard FTP network protocol. It is possible to create play lists from local files. Audio input and output connections are in the form of RCA analog audio and S/PDIF digital. This device makes use of DSPs, microcontrollers, hard disk access, CDROM control, development of a custom file system, digital signal sampling, a display controller, user input and output, network management, power fault tolerance, and digital and analog I/O.

Communication Device for Handicapped Kids

The purpose of this project is to develop a communication or educational device to assist handicapped children. So the project will develop a single device suitable for use by children with various motor and other challenges. To determine a general set of design requirements, the team will contact various regional government agencies working with handicapped children. A prototype system will be developed and tested by a handicapped child, after the design is complete.

Immersive Video and Audio Streaming for Collaborative Virtual Environments

An integrated system is developed to support simultaneous connection of immersive environments among geographically located sites. The main component of this system is the ability of sending and receiving video and audio streams integrated in the three-dimensional rendering on the virtual scene.
This project will investigate the current state of video and audio streaming tools, which are mainly focused on web-based transmissions, design a modification/solution for integrating these tools in a three-dimensional scene, and develop a prototype to check  the feasibility of the solution designed.

Computer Security

This purpose of this project is to create a web-based version of the current computer and network attack database. The project entails working with a web server using Linux, writing code in C, HTML, and PERL, downloading and compiling attack software and connect the same to the web database. It is foreseen that the finished software will have broad appeal to all researchers in computer security. Students who choose this project should enjoy designing software systems that present a single easy-to-use interface, but whose implementation is comprised of many different, large and even ill-defined pieces of software.

A grid computing based power monitoring system

We know that the demand of electric power is increasing day by day, protection of power system against failure remains a major challenge, especially against cascading failures which results blackout.

By addition of such geographically dispersing power system as a single element, huge database and computational intensive processing becomes necessary. For large amount of data and heavy computational work in the computer science and grid computing technology offers an alternative solution. The corresponding research about integrating power plant control system into grid computing technology is started in recent years. Along with the advancement of modern technologies and techniques in many fields in general and power system applications especially, more complexity and difficulty are appeared which make these applications incompatible or inefficient with recent computational technologies. The purpose of our research is mainly focusing on why we do need Grid Computing technology and its benefits to the power systems

Introduction to Power grid load balancing by using smart home appliances

Power grid balancing by using smart home appliances topic explains about a solution to overcome global warming which is caused from power by introducing a new micro controller based hardware DD-controller for balancing power grid load which will help to reduce global warming. In this paper we provide introduction to topic, its hardware, experimental results and conclusions.

Implementation of security in WAN

Internet is composition of many network such as private, public, academic, business and government networks of local to global scope that are linked by the electronic and optical networking technologies.
The Internet carries a vast array of information resources and services. Many networking elements such as routers, switches, hubs etc. has been interconnected together for communication of data over the transmission media. The routers are connected with WAN interfaces through the serial ports for data transmission and forwarding the packets using routing tables where as switches and hubs are connected with LAN. Static routing tables and dynamic routing protocols tell the routers where to forward IP traffic. These routers mainly transfer the data traffic between networks without any filtration. The job of traffic filtering is best performed by Access Control Lists. Access list filters the traffic by restricting the packets are to be forwarded or to be blocked at the router’s interfaces. Router examines each packet and forward or discard the packet based on the information available in the access control list. Restriction of the traffic can be source I.P. address, Destination I.P. address and port numbers also. Finally, in the reports trainees has to give different commands on the router on various routing techniques and access lists to get the require results for connection establishment and troubleshooting of WAN interfaces and LAN networks.

Web Enabled interactive work order system

The main interaction between the customer and vendor is internet. Internet plays a major role in the e-commerce. Actually in big organization tasks are assigning to solve the problem.  Our WORK ORDER SYSTEM solves this problem efficiently. It is an Internet based application, which will be useful for the organization that wants to complete its task and can place this in the official site of the company. The administrator of the company will check the orders placed by the customer. Then he will analysis the customer’s needs and demands, and chooses an appropriate worker for that customer. The worker of the company should have to ensure about his presence by daily logging in to the site. Once he has logged in, he will come to know about his task which is assigned by the company.  At the end of the day the worker should have to update the status of his work.
